Thunderbirds- Thunderbirds- THUNDERIRDS!

Here are the Thunderbirds!

Saturday we took our family to the Luke Airforce Base to see the Thunderbirds! It was amazing! We got to look through lots of airplanes and sit in the Helicopters! Justin was in Heaven! We got there bright and early (8:30) and looked through planes til the show started at 11:30. The had soooo many shows. I didn't know there would be so many- the Thunderbirds didn't fly til 3:00!! But we got to see the new F-22, it was like a rocket! It flew backward! And it was soooooo loud. Then there was this suped up helicopter that could do flips and rolls. The old school war planes were really really cool. They didn't have raidos just hand signals! And they had smoke come out their exhaust. They also had a stunt plane that was crazy. It would make huge dives and fly way up then look like it was falling back down. The Thunderbirds were amazing and worth the wait. I wish we had time to meet the pilots but as it was well into the 90's and we were all burnt to a crisp (especially me- I am way to white to live in HOT AZ). Now I just need to print the pictures so Justin can plaster them all over his room!

How DO their minds work?

I have to give a little background to the conversation I has with Alexa yesterday. We took the kids to the park in the morning for some family fun. After lunch the babies went down for a nap and the older 2 wanted to go swimming. They have been buggin' me for months to go swimming and I keep trying to convince them that it is winter and against nature to swim in the winter. But they do not agree "the sun is out Mom!" So I decided I would take them while John was home to be with the sleeping babies. But I told them they were not aloud to drown because I did not want to get in. And away we went.
Only in Arizona in the middle of winter can you go swimming and enjoy it. Thanks Johnson Ranch for heating the pool! They had a great time and swam for an hour and a half! Seriously?!?!
Alexa (who gets cold easily) froze when she got out of the pool (I tried to tell them that it was winter!) Alexa asked through chattering teeth if she could take a WARM bath at home. "of course!"
After another 1/2 hour in the WARM bath I went to wash her hair and get her out. As I was washing her toes;
I said: "woah, you are VERY wrinkley!"
Alexa: "I know!"
Me: "what are we going to do?"
Alexa: "Hmm. I don't know"
Me: "maybe I should iron you"
Alexa "No mom, then I would be flat"

Never mind the burn, she doesn't want to be flat. I love the funny things kids say and think. Once my little bro wouldn't drink his water (at a resturant) because it came in a caraf (looks like a vase) At the end of dinner my brother asked my dad why the waitress brought them "flower water"? Ha, love it! feel free to leave a comment on the funny things your kids say!

Look Who's Two!

Their Birthday dinner was Mexican (their favorite) and John made a Cheesecake which they had fun blowing out and eating the strawberries off the top and a few bites. Plus I made some flan and the ate so of that too! SO dOuBle the the desserts for the twins!

way to go Chelsie, you get your wish! Tyson tried to put the fire out with his hands (no future fireman here!)

Well the two turned Two! Tyson and Chelsie turned 2 or Feb 1st! They are getting so big and mind's of their own which I am not sure I like! Chelsie and Tyson double team me all day long. Chelsie is talking (a little to well) and Tyson can do enough to let me know what he wants. They are so sweet and so crazy at the same time! I I love them so much and it has truely been an amazing experience to see them grow together and see even little babies become friends. We love that you both are part of our crazy family!

A few random things about Tyson
*he loves to ride bikes
*he loves cars (but wants them to stick together so i have tied a lot of them together with string)
*he is a pretty good sharer and will try to give Chelsie a toy when she wants what he has, and he shares his food and drinks with her
*he makes sound effects for the cars he drives. (so boy)
*he loves the park- especially the swings
*he has the funniest laugh
*he is a momma's boy and is always on my lap
*he is a sweet mellow little guy

Chelsie
*she is a feisty little thing and wants what she wants or throws a bit of a tantrum
*she loves shoes (especially Alexa's)
*she loves dresses (she even has a dress-up dress) and getting her hair done
*she brushed my hair with a brush she got for christmas and she is really good at it
* she loves baby dolls and barbies (already?)
*she loves to give hugs and kisses but if you don't watch out sometimes she gives licks (and totally cracks up)
*she has the funniest belly laugh on such a little girl
*she loves having books read to her (the same one over and over)

Happy Birthday Tyson and Chelsie. (here's hoping we make it through another year! Especially this one when I have 2 two-year-olds!)

HuMptY DuMptY

Alexa is my most accident prone child (so far) although Tyson has had his fair share in his short 2 years. (so it might be a race between the two of them). Alexa falls a ton and usually pops up and says "I'm okay!" Bruises frequent her legs and at least once a day she does something to need a kiss. When she was little she made me kiss whatever was hurt and sometimes it was things I did not want to kiss (once she bit her tounge and I was not going to kiss that- sorry) I used to kiss my had and tap her bum (and tounge or whatever) if it needed a kiss. She got to the point where she would kiss her own hand and tap whatever place got the ouchie. It was funny. So far the major ones have been 2 black eyes (same eye, two years apart almost to the day! aNd It ruins my plans for family pictures every time!) and she cut her head open. Chelsie (my little feisty one) attacks Alexa often, hence all of the scratches on her face- poor girl, I hope the scares eventually fade.

Ode to Jam

When I went to visit my family in Cali this past Oct. I returned home with a treasure. My mom let me take a container of my Grandma Donetta's homemade raspberry jam. She grows the raspberries in her garden (in Idaho) and makes all kinds of delicious treats; homemade raspberry ice cream, raspberries and cream in a bowl, jelly roll pancakes, and of course the jam. I love all of it but I am rarely there to enjoy all of the goodies. It has been a long long time. I love jam and I especially love her jam. Even as kids we loved it! Once when we were on the looong journey back to Cali, someone knocked our cooler out of the van and a container of jam broke open- we were seriously trying to figure some way to save any bit of the jam and had a moment of silence for the jam that didn't make it, - it was so sad! I remember scraping the bottom of the container to get every last bit. Well as you can see I was VERY excited to get some jam and it was very generous of my mom to share as it was her Birthday present from my Grandma when they had gone to Idaho to visit. Justin had a few peanut butter and Grandma Jam (i think that is the offical name) sandwiches for lunch and when one returned home uneaten I said "J, if you don't eat the sandwiches I will just give you the old jam okay?" He said " oh no mom, I am going to eat it right now- see!?" I know it is a little pathetic... but I love my jam!
Well after many delicious sandwiches, toast and rolls, the jam has seen its last day, and so I leave this Ode to the most delicious and much desired container of Grandma Jam!

4. Christmas Music
5. Decorating the Tree and the house
6. Christmas outfits and Pictures
7. A visit to Santa

9.Reading/acting Christmas Story
10. Visiting with Family
**note to self, Do Not go anywhere Christmas Eve! I ran to get my perscription filled at Walgreens and I got honked at when I turned into the parking lot. I couldn't get out of the parking lot because everyone else was determined to leave first and the other cars were flying through as if the parking lot was a speedlimit "free" zone. Then as I pulled out into the center divide a car came flying around another car honking and flipping him off out the window! What the??!!! I felt like I was in an alternate universe- didn't these people know it was Chirstmas Eve!?!?! Yikes. Well luckily I made it home in one piece! But next year I think I will hide out in the saftey of my own house! Other than that it was a great Christmas! I hope your was too!
